Our Shared History and New Purpose
The importance of this project transcends its regional presence. Nationally, there is a movement to save and preserve African American historic spaces - Lincoln School is one of those spaces!
The story of Lincoln School is important to the entire community that it sits in, so today we use Lincoln School to share community across cultures and will continue telling its history.
Giving Back to Our Community
Lincoln School is eager to bring value to the community it’s been a part of for so long. Sharing the school and allowing for community events to be held here breathes new life into a building where education is built into its walls.
In the Press
The Lincoln School Project is honored to be featured nationwide in news outlets.
We are grateful to those who are equally as excited and inspired by Lincoln School and want to share our story!
OzarksWatch: The Historic Lincoln School
Lincoln School Project was recently featured in an episode of OzarksWatch Video. This segment highlights the history and ongoing efforts to preserve the legacy of Lincoln School, including our recent projects and community impact.
The video provides an in-depth look at the stories of those who lived, taught, and learned in this historic space, as well as our mission to honor their contributions through restoration and educational programs.
We invite you to watch the feature and learn more about how Lincoln School continues to serve as a cornerstone of cultural and historical significance in our community.

What’s New
We are thrilled to share our latest endeavor: the creation of a Reflection Plaza on the historic grounds of Lincoln School. This special addition will serve as a beautiful and meaningful space to honor the legacy of those who lived in the community formerly known as "The Hill," those who taught in this historic space, and lastly, those who learned in this one-room segregation-era school.
The Reflection Plaza will feature two custom statues that symbolize the resilience and contributions of those who once walked through Lincoln School's doors. It will be a place for contemplation, learning, and community gathering—a living tribute to those who paved the way for future generations.
While we have made strides thanks to the generosity of our community, it will take significant funding to make this vision a reality. We are actively applying for grants and seeking other forms of funding, but individual donations will be essential to our success.
You can make a difference by contributing today. Every donation—no matter the size—helps us preserve this vital piece of history for future generations. Together, we can create a space that reflects the values of education, perseverance, and community unity.
Take a moment to view the preliminary sketch of the Reflection Plaza and envision the lasting impact this space will have. Let’s build this future together.
