What We’re Doing Now
In Honor of Those Before
We are thrilled to share our latest endeavor: the creation of a Reflection Plaza on the historic grounds of Lincoln School. This special addition will serve as a beautiful and meaningful space to honor the legacy of those who lived in the community formerly known as "The Hill," those who taught in this historic space, and lastly, those who learned in this one-room segregation-era school.
The Reflection Plaza will feature two custom statues that symbolize the resilience and contributions of those who once walked through Lincoln School's doors. It will be a place for contemplation, learning, and community gathering—a living tribute to those who paved the way for future generations.
While we have made strides thanks to the generosity of our community, it will take significant funding to make this vision a reality. We are actively applying for grants and seeking other forms of funding, but individual donations will be essential to our success.
You can make a difference by contributing today. Every donation—no matter the size—helps us preserve this vital piece of history for future generations. Together, we can create a space that reflects the values of education, perseverance, and community unity.
Take a moment to view the preliminary sketch of the Reflection Plaza and envision the lasting impact this space will have. Let’s build this future together.
